GOED Launches Special Achievement Program Recognizing Third-Party Labs Specializing in Omega-3s

04.29.24

The program recognizes third-party labs that are exceptionally accurate in quantifying EPA and DHA levels in supplements.

The Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED), a trade association representing the omega-3s industry, has introduced a special achievement program for third-party labs. The program recognizes laboratories with exceptional accuracy in quantifying EPA and DHA levels in omega-3 ingredient oils and finished dietary supplement products.

Labs that have participated in the AOCS-GOED Nutraceutical Oil Laboratory Proficiency Program are welcome to apply to the program by submitting their latest results. The title of “Special Achievement” will be given to qualifying laboratories for a one-year term. During this period, GOED will actively promote recognized labs to its members and the public, and will prioritize referring companies seeking EPA/DHA testing to these labs.

The Special Achievement Program is part of GOED’s efforts to promote the quality of and consumer confidence in omega-3 products. The aim of the program is to assist more third-party labs in achieving higher accuracy in EPA and DHA quantification. For more information, including how to apply, visit GOED’s website.
