CP Kelco U.S., Atlanta, GA, and Fluxome Sciences A/S, Copenhagen, Denmark, have joined forces to develop resveratrol, an antioxidant believed to offer anti-aging and cardiovascular benefits. The joint agreement between CP Kelco—part of J.M. Huber Corporation, Edison, NJ—and Fluxome Sciences will focus on the development of a novel fermentation process in an effort to launch and supply the market with a natural, high purity resveratrol, initially for nutritional supplements. With CP Kelco’s development capabilities and Fluxome Sciences’ proprietary metabolic engineering technology platform, additional applications in foods, beverages and cosmetics are expected to follow in the future.
