PhytoGaia will debut two new branded ingredients, TocoGaia and STGaia, at SupplySide West.
TocoGaia is a complex of tocotrienols derived from palm fruits. STGaia is a novel combination of palm-sourced squalene and tocotrienol complex, specifically developed for oral and topical skin beauty. Squalene, which has historically been derived from shark liver, is widely used in topical cosmetic products for its beneficial effects on skin. Tocotrienols, a branch of vitamin E, are backed by a body of evidence for their anti-aging properties and overall effect on skin health. According to PhytoGaia, STGaia is the first plant-based extract containing these two phytonutrients together as a complex.
Both TocoGaia and STGaia are extracted from sustainably-sourced palm fruits through physical processes, without the use of any harmful solvents or chemicals, and without any methyl ester residue. Both ingredients are available as an oil suspension, water dispersible powder, and self-emulsifying liquid suspension, to cater various applications. For the first time, PhytoGaia will also launch its free-flowing beadlets and mini-tablets of the two ingredients.
“We are excited to showcase TocoGaia and STGaia with a wide range of delivery systems at SSW,” said Bryan See, vice president of PhytoGaia. “The unique quality attributes and new forms of our STGaia and TocoGaia will definitely help brand owners add value to their new projects or upgrade their current formulas.”
“Currently, there are several ongoing human clinical trials on TocoGaia and STGaia for wound healing, immunomodulatory protection, skin nutrition, nutrigenomics, and sport endurance,” said Dr. Ariati Aris, scientific affairs specialist, said. “We will be delighted to share the progress and findings with the audience at SSW 2022 on Nov. 2 and 3.”
