Ingredion Incorporated, Westchester, IL, has entered into an expanded distribution agreement with Desert King International, the world's largest producer of Quillaja saponaria and Yucca schidigera products, to be the exclusive global distributor of naturally sourced foaming agents for use in food and beverage applications. Ingredion will introduce these products to the North American and European markets, under the FOAMATION brand, on November 1st, followed by a global rollout in 2015.
Desert King International has been producing food grade saponins since 1978 and is the leading producer of Quillaja saponaria and Yucca schidigera -based products across segments ranging from pharmaceutical ingredients, agriculture, beverages and cosmetics.
“We are excited to work with Ingredion to expand the use of quillaja and yucca extracts in the food and beverage industry. With Ingredion’s support, we will not only broaden our presence worldwide, but our customers will also benefit from the company’s expertise in formulation, CULINOLOGY, sensory, and more,” said Paul Hiley, president of Desert King International.
This agreement only strengthens the relationship between the two companies, whom have collaborated in the development and marketing of Q-NATURALE, a naturally based emulsifier for beverages, since 2007.
