Informa Markets announced that Vitafoods Europe will relocate to Barcelona in 2025, as part of visitor and exhibitor feedback and growth plans for the event.
The move will allow the event to include more visitors and exhibitors and create more business opportunities for companies that attend. Vitafoods Europe 2025 will be held on May 20-22 at Fira Barcelona, with more details to come next year.
“After over two and a half incredible decades in Geneva, we’re excited to announce that Barcelona will be the home of Vitafoods Europe from 2025. From humble beginnings in 1997 with just 100 exhibitors and a 2,500-square-meter show floor, Vitafoods Europe now welcomes tens of thousands of visitors every year to connect, learn and be inspired. The move is the result of the amazing growth we’ve had over the decades, and our new home will allow the event – and the companies that visit or exhibit – to continue to grow in line with the fast-paced nutraceutical market,” said Natasha Berrow, executive vice president of food at Informa Markets.
The move was motivated by a number of factors, according to Informa, such as that Spain is a test market for nutraceutical product launches and is one of the top five countries in the European nutraceuticals market, which respectively comprise 66% of all European sales.
Secondly, the city’s accessibility motivated the switch, especially for direct flights, accommodation options, and streamlined logistics within the EU. Barcelona has an estimated 40,000 hotel rooms, and nearly 3,000 flights departing from its airport weekly which connect to almost 200 airports in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa.
Finally, Barcelona’s culture, attractions, food, and drink made it an attractive destination, Informa noted.

Barcelona has been selected as our new home after extensive research and listening to both our exhibitors and visitors, carefully considering what matters most to them.
