Manipal Natural, an ingredient supplier specializing in botanical extracts, recently received approval and a grant from the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Spice Board. The funding will go toward the development of a viable product from spent turmeric (the insoluble solids remaining after solvent extraction) for use as a dietary/food supplement.
The grant will support the company’s research and development center’s ability to develop a bioactive and viable nutraceutical product, Dr. Shiv, managing director of Manipal Natural and lead investigator of the project, said.
“We are pleased to expand our partnership with Spices Board and this collaboration will enable us to advance our promising technology platform,” Ashish Pradhan, director of Manipal Natural, said.
