Supplier Ingredients by Nature (IBN) has increased capacity and has installed a "no minimums" policy for the company’s dedicated freeze-drying services. With capabilities to handle increased demand and immediate availability, the IBN freeze drying division is prepared to handle tasks for a wide variety of industries, including nutraceuticals.
IBN has offered a freeze drying service for 75 years, largely to address internal production. With continual updates and consistent results, the company has recognized the need for facilities that would perform everything from custom freeze-dry pilots to full runs.
“We’ve been expanding our capabilities for years and have found the market demand for experienced operations growing,” Rob Brewster, president of IBN, said. “In this rapidly changing environment, companies can’t wait months to get back an ingredient or formulation from a pilot, they need to move much quicker. We can now meet that need at scale from the smallest order to a full run.”
Freeze-drying is a powerful approach to maintain a formulation’s potency, compared to other drying methods, which may degrade important compounds, which can then upset their biochemical balance, according to Brewster. “Research has shown that the process of freeze-drying can actually protect and retain much of the nutritional quality in the product. In fact, freeze-drying has been proven to retain the purity and power of the product, even when presented in powder forms.”
