The Nature’s Bounty Co., Ronkonkoma, NY, has appointed Dr. Mark Gelbert to the position of chief scientific officer. In this role, Dr. Gelbert will lead the company’s research, development, and innovation efforts by creating and executing product development strategies, enhancing product offerings, and driving product advancements across all of its global brands.
With more than 30 years of experience in product development, Dr. Gelbert is a highly skilled executive leader in consumer healthcare innovation and brand development. He has led the development and implementation of many new innovation cultures and is responsible for the launch of hundreds of new consumer drugs, dietary supplements and personal care products globally. Most recently, Dr. Gelbert was senior vice president of Global R&D and Switch for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare and a member of its global leadership team.

Dr. Gelbert will begin his new role immediately and will be based in Ronkonkoma, NY. Dr. Gelbert holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a Juris Doctorate in Law from Northern Kentucky University, and a BA in Chemistry from Rutgers University. He has held leadership positions in a number of professional organizations including the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, where he was Chair of the Scientific Affairs Committee and a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Gelbert currently serves on the Rutgers University Chemistry and Chemical Biology Advisory Board. He is admitted to the Ohio State Bar.
