The company said that doing its part to flatten the curve supersedes its production and distribution.

Nutritional Supplement company Carlson has announced that its home office in Arlington Heights, Illinois, will be closed from today, March 23, to April 7 in response to Illinois Governor J. B. Prtizker issuing a stay-at-home order on March 21 to maximize COVID-19 containment and to ensure that the state’s healthcare system is able to continue operations.

While in Illinois, nutritional supplement providers are considered exempt from this order Carlson believes it is best to support its employees and the community by heeding the governor’s call to stay home, which will contribute to slowing the spread of COVID-19.

Carlson will resume production and distribution operations on April 8, with additional measures in place to protect the health and safety of its employees and customers, including social distancing policy and enhanced cleaning protocols.

“Carlson knows you and your customers depend on Carlson products to support health and wellness, especially in times like these,” the company said in a statement. “News of the temporary shutdown of Carlson may be disappointing. But in anticipation of this eventuality, Carlson has been working overtime to help retailers fill their shelves and ensure a steady supply of Carlson products.”

“Carlson grieves with the community of people around the world who have lost loved ones to COVID-19,” the statement continued. “Our hearts are with our employees, their families, and our community as we band together and do our part to flatten the curve.  And we are so grateful to the many bright lights, including first responders, nurses, doctors, researchers, public health officials, and public servants who are working tirelessly to save lives and put an end to this pandemic.”
