Youngevity International, Inc., San Diego, CA, has debuted its first phyto-nutrition, fermented whole food product, Super Greens. This drink powder, developed utilizing the latest nutritional research in plant-based nutrition along with a specialized nutritional delivery method and technology, was developed in conjunction with New York Times’ best-selling author, Jordan Rubin, a pioneer in whole food nutrition, who wrote “The Maker’s Diet,” and is the founder of Garden of Life and Beyond Organic. Super Greens is predominately a phyto-nutrient based product, in which plant based extracts and whole foods are used in the formulation. Phyto-nutrients are classified as the health providing nutrients in whole foods, the natural antioxidants and the original matrix of vitamins and minerals. Each ingredient in Super Greens provides complementary nutrients, creating a full foundational set of nutrients with each serving. Youngevity’s Peppermint-flavored Super Greens contains raw, certified organic juices from vegetables and super fruits, as well as probiotics and enzymes to offer balanced nutrition. Our inaugural phyto-nutrition product offers individuals looking to better their lives yet another quality option for meeting their daily nutritional needs related to exercise and to positive daily living.” The product utilizes organic whole fruits and nutrient dense vegetables; contains a superfood botanical blend, fermented fruits and greens, herbs and spices; features live probiotics and enzymes from soil-based organisms; is gluten-free, dairy-free, alkalizing, and high in antioxidants; and features a natural and organic flavoring system of peppermint and spearmint. The company has also launched FitShake. Banana Cream-flavored FitShake powder is a proprietary blend of proteins to support muscular and collagen development and growth. The FitShake offers a blend of proteins and specialized nutrients intended to directly support the repair and recovery of ligaments, tendons, and cartilage. Its formulation allows for complete versatility of use, as a post workout or recovery drink or a health meal replacement, the company said. “Our FitShake is the company’s first product within our Performance line of nutritional products,” said Mr. Wallach. “This new performance product line addresses exercise performance-based nutritional needs, supporting athletes and weekend warriors alike with nutritional benefits tailored to their pursuit of fitness.” The product contains fermented vitamin D3 and 25 grams of protein per serving from a combination of whey, concentrated bone broth, organic flaxseed, and coconut milk. Specialty nutrients also include exclusive green maragogype coffee beans from the Youngevity-owned plantation, probiotics and digestive enzymes. It is gluten- and dairy-free and contains no added sugars, preservatives, or artificial flavors/colors.
