Traditional Medicinals, a botanical supplements company and Certified B Corp, announced the launch of Herbs for All, a new initiative to expand access to herbal education and wellness.

The Traditional Medicinals Foundation has awarded over $75,000 in grants to nonprofit partners advancing health and herbal wellness access in their communities. The company has also invested $200,000 to broaden access to herbal wellness through education, community health programs, and consumer education around trusted certifications like Organic, Fair for Life, and FairWild.

The latest initiative comes as Traditional Medicinals celebrates its 50th year in business, and includes two programs: Planting Wellness, a community grant initiative, and Plant Wisdom Collective, a free digital education program.

“For 50 years, we’ve learned from the communities who grow, use, and share plant wisdom,” said Jamie Horst, chief purpose officer. “Herbs for All is about giving back, partnering with those who’ve carried these traditions, and expanding access to high-quality herbal wellness for people who’ve too often been left out. This is how we honor our legacy: by making herbal care more accessible, more inclusive, and more rooted in the community than ever before.”

Planting Wellness

Planting Wellness will provide $20,000 grants to support locally tailored workshops, healing spaces, and hands-on learning. 2025 anchor partners include:

  • Oko Farms, New York City’s first outdoor aquapnoics farm which was founded in 2013 by educator Yemi Amu in an abandoned lot. Today, the site features youth and adult workshops on sustainable agriculture and herbalism. The grant will fund expanded educational programming rooted in environmental justice and ancestral knowledge.
  • The Botanical Bus, a longtime partner of Traditional Medicinals which delivers bilingual, culturally grounded care such as herbalism, acupuncture, and massage directly to Latino and indigenous communities. The mobile clinic will expand its community-led healing events and herbal medicine-making workshops through the grant.

“With Planting Wellness, we’re supporting the real leaders of community health, organizations that have been cultivating knowledge and resilience for generations,” said Jamie Horst. “We’re proud to stand beside them as long-term partners in expanding access to plant-based wellness.”

The program will expand nationally in 2026, with up to 10 nonprofits selected annually to receive mini-grants.

Plant Wisdom Collective

The Plant Wisdom Collective is a free video series that discusses the art, science, and tradition of herbal medicine. It is led by Taryn Forrelli, ND, chief science officer at Traditional Medicinals, and Guido Masé, principal and herbalist. The four-part series explores the roots of herbalism, the value of high-quality sourcing, and how traditional and science meet in modern herbal formulations.

Conversations with herbal experts cover how herbs are grown, and how they’re blended for taste and function.

The experience also includes a Plant Wisdom Collective kit featuring herbal teas and a hands-on herbal preparation guide, and an interactive landing page where users can stream the series, take a quiz, and earn a certificate of completion.

“Plant Wisdom Collective was born out of our deep belief that herbal wellness should be accessible, practical, and empowering,” said Forrelli. “This series offers a welcoming place to learn from trusted herbalists and start building a meaningful relationship with plants, wherever you are in your journey.”
