Qualia has launched Vitamin C+, a vitamin C formulation that is designed to overcome factors that limit the absorption, retention, and utilization of the nutrient.

“Most vitamin C products focus on dose alone, but absorption and utilization are just as critical,” said James Schmachtenberger, CEO. “In nature, vitamin C is never isolated. It’s normally paired with important cofactors, and obtained from diverse sources and forms. We formulated Qualia Vitamin C+ to more closely mimic how the body evolved to absorb and utilize vitamin C, and the clinical results are extremely encouraging.”

The supplement delivers 500 mg of vitamin C from seven sources, and includes the liposomal PureWay-C and chelated Nutra-C, which offer greater bioavailability than standard ascorbic acid. The formula also includes a superfruit complex featuring camu camu, acerola cherry, amla, and rose hip, along with vitamin C cofactors like citrus bioflavonoids and ferulic acid to support vitamin C retention and function in the body.

In a registered, placebo-controlled clinical study, participants who took Qualia Vitamin C+ demonstrated 25.7% higher blood vitamin C levels compared to a control group taking a placebo, the company reported. The four-week study involved 17 women and 15 men between the ages of 34 and 77 years old.
