Nexira has launched BloomEase, an ingredient that combines white yarrow flower extract and marine magnesium, formulated to support menstrual discomfort, mood, and quality of life.

The PMS supplements market remains fragmented, with many ingredients focused on a single symptom, effective only before or during menstruation, Nexira reported.

BloomEase’s dual action formula combines white yarrow (Achillea millefolium) extract, which is traditionally used for menstrual discomfort, with marine-sourced magnesium, which carries EU-authorized health claims for psychological function and fatigue reduction. The formula is meant to be taken at 520 mg per day, and is suitable for capsules, tablets, or powder sticks.

In a human clinical study, the supplement was tested against a placebo in 167 women between the ages of 18 and 45 with confirmed PMS over four menstrual cycles.

Compared to the control group, those who took the supplement saw a -78% reduction in self-reported intense dysmenorrhea symptoms; a -42% decrease in self-reported intense fatigue scores; and a -52% decrease in PMS’s impact of quality of life, as measured by the Visual Analogue Scale.

By cycle two, the treatment group saw up to -55% less breast tenderness than the placebo group and reported sleep disturbances were three times less frequent from cycle one.

There was strong overall satisfaction (80%), purchase intent (76%), perceived fast action (82%), and willingness to recommend (78%) the supplement from the treatment group.

“BloomEase answers a clear unmet need: supporting PMS comprehensively, naturally, and effectively,” said Leslie Lannebere, international marketing manager. “The first market feedback confirms this is exactly what brands and their consumers were waiting for.”
