Kappa Bioscience, Oslo, Norway, has been granted novel food approval for its vitamin K2 as menaquinone-7 (K2VITAL) in the EU. The Novel Food application was submitted to the German Food Safety Agency. Based on a positive German assessment, all the EU Member States have acknowledged the novel food recommendation. Kappa Bioscience is now ready to launch their K2VITAL product range in the European markets for food supplements, fortified foods and food products for specific nutritional purposes.
