Kaneka Nutrients Reports Testing Failures in Ubiquinol Products Sold on Amazon

Kaneka Nutrients, an ingredient supplier specializing in Ubiquinol, has called out evidence of widespread quality problems with products sold on Amazon claiming to contain ubiquinol. Kaneka produces ubiquinol via a patented yeast fermentation method, free from cis-isomers produced during synthetic CoQ10 manufacturing.

This is the third round of testing Kaneka has conducted in partnership with third-party lab Eurofins. In December 2025, the company identified nine products containing nearly undetectable levels of ubiquinol in third-party tests, and in May 2025, the company identified 11 supplements that failed with similar results.

“We built this category, which means we have an obligation to protect it,” said Terese Mansell, vice president of Kaneka’s nutrients division. “That stewardship extends beyond our own manufacturing standards to what consumers find on shelves.”

“When results raise concerns about product authenticity, Kaneka Corporation will pursue appropriate action, including legal and regulatory remedies and, where warranted, public disclosure,” the company reported.

In the present phase of testing, Eurofins found near-zero concentrations of ubiquinol in four supplements: Good Friends Health Society (claimed 200 mg per serving, contained <0.003 mg per serving); Vitarevive (claimed 600 mg per serving, contained <0.003 mg per serving); Leaping Lynx (claimed 200 mg per serving, contained <0.001 mg per serving), and Nuism (claimed 600 mg per serving, contained <0.003 mg per serving).

All products were purchased through Amazon, and shipped via Amazon delivery directly to Eurofins prior to testing. No tested product was handled by non-lab personnel prior to testing, Kaneka reported.
