Quilter, who is highly experienced in the natural products industry, most recently spent 18 years at Kerry Group.

Gencor, an ingredient supplier and specialist in delivery technologies for the nutraceutical industry, has appointed John Quilter as its new CEO.

Quilter is a food scientist with a Bachelor’s degree in animal science and a Master’s degree in food science. He also holds a professional diploma in strategy and innovation from the Smurfit Business School at the University College Dublin.

Most recently, Quilter worked at Kerry Group for 18 years, in various positions including global portfolio vice president of proactive health and North America applied health and nutrition leader. He’s previously collaborated with CPG corporations such as Nestlé, Danone, and Unilever.

Quilter is experienced in scaling businesses via organic growth and mergers and acquisitions. During his time at Kerry, he and his team created the proactive health portfolio of science-backed branded ingredients, which involved acquisitions of Biothera, Ganeden, Bio-K+, Biosearch Life, and Natreon.

Quilter founded and served as the CEO of BiaQ, a boutique strategic advisory firm focused on foods, beverages, and consumer health products.

Gencor’s founders and co-owners, Jith Veeravalli and Ramasamy Venkatesh, will continue to serve on the board of directors and provide strategic guidance to the Gencor group.

“John Quilter brings extensive experience and a successful history in the natural products industry,” said Jith Veeravalli, chairman. “We are thrilled to have him on our team to elevate Gencor to new heights and lead us toward continued success.”

“John’s global leadership experience and strong commercial and scientific background perfectly fit Gencor. As a global organization focused on bringing clinically validated products to market, we are excited about John’s vision for the company,” said Ramasamy Venkatesh, chairman.

“I am thrilled about joining the team and having the opportunity to work with such a reputable and science-driven company like Gencor,” said Quilter. “I look forward to our continued growth together, and I am very excited about our future.”
