Enzymedica Develops Supplement for Digesting Fatty Foods

Lypo Gold aims to relieve discomfort from fatty foods through enzyme supplementation.

Enzymedica, Venice, FL, has developed Lypo Gold, a supplement that relieves discomfort caused by eating fatty foods.

The new digestive enzyme supplement helps consumers digest up to 22 grams of fat per capsule. This means fatty foods like cheeseburgers and bacon can be digested with ease, and good-for-you fats like avocado, salmon and olive oil are appropriately used for energy. Enzymedica worked with SRQ Bio, a contract research organization, to conclude these findings.

For those who experience digestive difficultly, including occasional gas, bloating, nausea and dry skin caused by fatty foods, Lypo Gold offers a natural way to continue eating these foods, according to the company.

“Lypo Gold is simply a better way to enjoy the foods you love without discomfort,” said Tom Bohager, founder and chairman of Enzymedica. “Whether it’s a burger at your favorite diner or a cheese plate at a party, fat is a part of most of our diets. Additionally, Lypo Gold ensures healthy fats, including those from plant-based sources like avocados, are doing their job as effectively as possible to provide us with the energy we need on a daily basis.”

The company said supplementing a diet with digestive enzymes, such as the unique lipase blend found in Lypo Gold, can be helpful as the human body’s natural digestive enzymes start to decline with age and foods that previously caused no issue may become problematic. Furthermore, Enzymedica’s exclusive Thera-blend process, which involves blending enzyme strands together, produces more potent and effective products than competing brands.

In addition to supporting fat digestion, Lypo Gold can also offer cardiovascular and cholesterol support and is a useful tool for the 750,000 Americans who have their gallbladders removed each year (2011, NIH.gov). Because they no longer have a place to store bile, post-surgery more than half of these patients have difficultly digesting fat (ClevelandClinic.org, 2015), and Lypo Gold can help with this.
