AG1 announced that it has upgraded its daily greens powder to include probiotics, a methylated vitamin B complex, and a new formulation of vitamins and minerals. The new formula is supported by four unpublished randomized, placebo-controlled clinical studies, the company reports.

The company has committed $20 million to continue research on the supplement over the next three years, including through partnerships with leading universities for discovery research on advancing nutrition science.

The new formula contains five new probiotic strains: Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM, Bifidobacterium lactis HN019, Lactobacillus casei LC-11, and Lactobacillus plantarum LP-115.

The new formula, AG1 Next Gen, was tested in four unpublished clinical studies which reportedly found that the supplement had a positive impact on common nutrient gaps and markers of gut health across a range of diets, ages, and lifestyles.

AG1 was associated with a positive impact on common nutrition gaps, including folate and vitamin C; an increase in beneficial gut bacteria in participants with varying markers of gut health, age, and activity at baseline; and evidence that nutrients were quickly and easily absorbed.

“We are constantly setting a higher bar for ourselves, and consequently, the industry,” said Kat Cole, CEO. “The launch of AG1 Next Gen marks years of behind-the-scenes development and research. I’m proud of this milestone of a continuously innovated and improved product, and even more proud of the standards and quality we are elevating in the industry.”
