Global flavor and fragrance manufacturer MANE has entered into an agreement with Arzeda, a specialist in AI-driven protein design, to exclusively produce and commercialize Arzeda’s ViaLeaf Reb M via a process that uses Nobel Prize-winning enzymatic conversion technology.

The new license enables MANE to manage the entire Reb M value chain from production through commercialization. MANE and Arzeda began collaborating earlier this year to develop high-quality, accessible sugar reduction solutions.

“This new step in our partnership with Arzeda reflects our commitment to delivering innovative, high-performance solutions to our customers,” said Samantha Mane, CEO. “By combining Arzeda’s breakthrough technology with MANE’s production, falvor creation, application, and commercial expertise, we can now offer the market a fully integrated Reb M solution that delivers outstanding taste performance and competitive economics.”

Reb M is a steviol glycoside desired for its clean, sugar-like sweetness and neutral flavor profile. Arzeda’s proprietary technology has transformed the economics of Reb M production, and MANE’s industrial expertise will enable large-scale deployment, the company reported.

“MANE is uniquely positioned to unlock the full potential of ViaLeaf Reb M, the first-ever product enabled by AI-driven protein design to reach the market,” said Alexandre Zanghellini, PhD, CEO of Arzeda. “By entrusting MANE with production and commercialization, we are combining Arzeda’s innovation capabilities with MANE’s global scale and industry leadership to accelerate the adoption of next-generation sweetening solutions worldwide.”
