Eagle Diagnostics’ TruShield announced the launch of the TruShield Certification App, a new digital resource to help the public quickly verify whether a product or ingredient has earned TruShield Certification.

TruShield’s certification process includes banned substance testing, label claim review against the certificate of analysis (CoA), and validation of GMP certification for certified lots. The app, which is available in official app stores, allows people who use or evaluate products to confirm certification status.

TruShield Certification involves screening finished products and nutritional ingredients for more than 480 prohibited compounds, including anabolic agents, stimulants, SARMs, and diuretics. The program is designed to reduce the risk of exposure to banned substances, to protect athletes and safeguard brands’ reputation in the performance and everyday health categories.

TruShield is communicating that its certification process has always included a review of label claims against the CoA, along with GMP certification. The documentation reviews accompany product testing for all certified lots to provide an additional layer of review for consumers, athletes, health care professionals, professional teams, and brands.

“Transparency has always been central to the TruShield Certification process,” said Lori Beservelt, PhD, senior vice president of certification services. “The new TruShield certification app makes it easier for consumers, athletes, practitioners, teams, and professional users to confirm whether a product is certified. It also helps make it more visible that TruShield Certification includes not only banned substance testing, but also label claim review against the CoA and validation of GMP certification for certified lots.”
