NutriScience Innovations has launched SalidroPro, a salidroside complex developed to support stress resilience, mood, focus, and daily performance. The ingredient is supported by a newly-published clinical study demonstrating improvements in perceived stress and anxious feelings.

In a six-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study published in Nutraceuticals, over 600 participants were randomized to receive either a low dose, high dose, or placebo. Over half (63%) of those that supplemented with 50 mg of SalidroPro per day experienced reductions in perceived stress by the end of the first week, with 20% more experiencing an improvement in anxious feelings in stressful situations.

“Participants reported feeling more in control, enhanced focus, and feeling less overwhelmed,” the company reported.

“Our goal wasn’t simply to develop another adaptogen,” said Edward Dosz, PhD, chief science officer at NutriScience and co-author of the study. “We wanted to develop an ingredient with compelling human data, formulation flexibility, and a sustainable production platform so our customers can formulate with greater confidence. SalidroPro represents what we believe is the future of evidence-based adaptogenic ingredients.”

Salidroside is the bioactive compound in Rhodiola, a botanical used for centuries to support focus, stress resilience, and physical performance. Rising global demand and its 2023 CITES listing have raised sustainability and supply concerns. SalidroPro is produced via precision fermentation rather than plant extraction, enabling a scalable and sustainable solution for stress support products.
