Country Life, LLC announced that it has acquired Aura Cacia from Frontier Distribution LLC, a member-owned cooperative. The acquisition expands Country Life’s portfolio of wellness brands, which include Country Life, Desert Essence, and BioChem.

Aura Cacia was formed in 1982 and specializes in essential oils, skincare, and aromatherapy products from botanicals, and joined the Frontier Co-op family of brands in the 1990s.

“Aura Cacia is a strong fit within the Country Life family,” said Rob Robillard, CEO of Country Life. ” Together, we bring more than a century of combined experience helping consumers live healthier, more balanced lives. Aura Cacia’s leadership in essential oils and aromatherapy complements our portfolio of supplements, sports nutrition and personal care products, all developed with integrity, transparency and care.”

Aura Cacia will maintain its manufacturing operations in Urbana, Iowa, and headquarters in Hauppage, New York.

“After stewarding Aura Cacia’s growth for more than 30 years, we believe this decision allows both organizations to focus, scale and thrive,” said Tony Bedard, CEO of Frontier Co-op. “Country Life has the expertise and resources to help Aura Cacia fully capitalize on the growing consumer demand for high-quality essential oils and aromatherapy products. We are proud to entrust this mission-driven brand to a partner that will build on the values that have made it successful, while we remain focused on our herbs and spices business with Frontier Co-op and Simply Organic brands.”
