Ethical Naturals Inc. will debut MachaWave, a new ingredient that combines organic high-grade matcha with AlphaWave L-theanine at IFT First.

MachaWave is formulated to support balanced energy, stress, and cognitive performance, to meet growing consumer demand for functional beverages that provide energy benefits along with mental well-being. The ingredient is formulated to support sustained energy, mental clarity, and a relaxed focus, the company reported.

AlphaWave L-theanine is ENI’s key product in the stress relief category, and is supported by three clinical studies showing that it supports increased brain wave activity, along with enhanced cognitive performance and feelings of relaxation. It has been featured as a key ingredient in many stress support supplements.

AlphaWave is GRAS affirmed in the U.S. and is the only L-theanine ingredient approved for use in Australia by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. It is ideal for beverage use as it is fully water-soluble and stable in a range of temperatures and pH conditions.

In an acute stress study, AlphaWave supported increased frontal brainwave activity while reducing salivary cortisol levels compared to placebo. In a longer-term 28-day placebo-controlled trial, the ingredient was shown to support improvements in sleep quality, reductions in perceived stress, and enhanced cognitive attention in moderately stressed adults.

ENI will also highlight Cranberex, a cranberry extract standardized to 15% A-Type PACs. Multiple studies at Rutgers University compared the anti-adhesion activity and potency of Cranberex versus two other major cranberry extract brands. The results showed sharp differences in both categories of comparison, with Cranberex achieving significant additional benefits.

ENI will also feature Polyphenol-C, a non-GMO vitamin C ingredient with wide-spectrum berry polyphenols from grape, blueberry, cranberry, blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry.
