Seraphina Therapeutics, Inc., the makers of the fatty15 supplement, announced that they’ve launched a practitioner-exclusive, high-dose version of the C15:0 supplement, which is available through FullScript, a platform used by more than 125,000 practitioners to acquire professional-grade supplements.

“Fullscript’s deep roots in the provider community make them an exceptional partner to launch Fatty15 Advanced Formula Extra Strength,” said Dr. Eric Venn-Watson, co-founder and co-CEO of Seraphina Therapeutics. “Together, we share a commitment to delivering the highest-quality, science-backed solutions to clinicians who are driving better outcomes for their patients every day.”

The supplement, Fatty15 Advanced Formula Extra Strength, delivers a potent dose of pure C15:0, the first essential fatty acid to be discovered in 90 years.

According to the company, peer-reviewed studies suggest that low C15:0 levels may lead to ferroptosis, a newly discovered form of cell death that accelerates aging, impacting liver, metabolic, heart, cognitive, and red blood cell health. Optimal C15:0 levels have been associated with better cardiovascular and metabolic health outcomes in prospective human studies, the company noted.

Fatty15 Advanced Formula Extra Strength was developed to achieve and maintain optimal C15:0 levels in patients with the goal of delivering measurable benefits in biomarkers of aging within months.

C15:0 was first discovered by Seraphina’s co-founder, Stephanie Venn-Watson, DVM. While serving as a veterinary epidemiologist for the U.S. Navy, she discovered that several Navy dolphins were developing aging-associated conditions. Using metabolomics, they realized that C15:0, among hundreds of other serum-based molecules, was the strongest predictor of the healthiest dolphins. Over the next decade, more than 100 peer-reviewed studies have been published in C15:0.

An independent third-party panel reviewed the totality of data on C15:0, and concluded that the supplement’s claims are backed by competent and reliable scientific evidence (CARSE), Seraphina Therapeutics reported.
