Biohm Technologies, a specialist in microbiome research and products, announced that its probiotic blend Mycohsa has received a Natural Product Number (NPN) from Health Canada. The blend of bacterial and fungal strains is designed to support digestive health and overall microbiome balance.

The approval applies to Mycohsa 1 billion CFU capsules and allows dietary supplement brands marketing products in Canada to formulate with Mycohsa under an approved framework that includes a range of permitted probiotic structure/function claims related to digestive and gastrointestinal health.

Companies that formulate with an ingredient that already holds an NPN can often streamline product development in Canada and expedite registration efforts for the Canadian market.
