Ferlux designed a study on apo E+/- deficient mice that spontaneously develop atherosclerosis, to explore the benefits of Antho50 on gene expressions, characterized by a transcriptomic approach. In this study, Antho50 proved to affect the expression specific genes in the aorta, suggesting that the mechanisms of action could be much more varied than previously believed, and that Antho50 has an impact at the genomic level. The implication of different transcription factors and cell signaling pathways revealed by bioinformatics tools is currently being investigated further.
