Research: Sixty post-menopausal women were given a half cup of dry roasted soy nuts each day over a period of eight weeks. The purpose of the study was to assess the effect of soy on blood pressure.
Results: According to researchers, the study found that women who ate a half cup of soy nuts daily lowered their systolic blood pressure by 10% and diastolic blood pressure was lowered by 7%. Furthermore, even women with normal blood pressure were able to lower it by eating the soy nuts.
