Pharmachem New Business Group Targets Food, Beverage Industry

Pharmachem Laboratories, Inc., Kearny, NJ, has created a new business group to focus specifically on the needs of the food and beverage industry. The new Food & Beverage Group will be responsible for identifying custom manufacturing and branded ingredient opportunities across all Pharmachem companies.

“We’re using the same business model that has made Pharmachem a global leader in nutritional markets to penetrate more conventional food and drink categories with our custom processes and branded ingredients,” said Gregory Drew, new business manager, Food & Beverage Group.

Pharmachem recently launched StarchLite, an all-natural ingredient for use in the food and beverage industry, which has been shown in clinical studies to delay the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates; and reduce the glycemic index (GI) and caloric impact of starchy foods. Pharmachem also represents several other branded ingredients, including Advasterol plant sterols and Lactium, a hydrolysate of milk proteins with relaxing properties.
