Iprona is launching a range of standardized European black elderberry extracts that offer all the benefits of its unique polyphenol extraction technology.
ElderCraft is a premium extract from the Haschberg variety of Sambucus nigra, L., standardized to anthocyanins and polyphenols. The new brand represents Iprona’s commitment to a European supply chain, traceability, and clinically tested efficacy. In a clinical trial on long-distance air travelers it was found to reduce cold episodes by 50%, and illness duration by 33%.
At the heart of the ElderCraft brand family is IPT (Iprona Polyphenol Technology), the company’s unique separation, concentration, and enrichment process. It is solvent-free and uses specially designed membranes to separate the molecules in the pressed fruit juice into streams according to their size.
This allows the preservation of nutrients with High Molecular Weight Fraction (including polyphenols, polysaccharides, and anthocyanins) while removing undesirable ingredients. By comparison with alternatives extracted using ethanol, ElderCraft is very low in chlorides and other minerals unwanted in finished products.
The efficacy of polyphenol extracts depends on the synergy between polyphenols and High Molecular Weight Fraction. However, to guarantee the highest possible quality for customers, finished products displaying the ElderCraft name must be approved by Iprona.
