Women In Nutraceuticals to Participate in Presentations and Co-Host Networking Reception

The newly-formed cohort of women with leadership positions in nutrition seeks to further opportunities for women and research on women’s health.
Women in Nutraceuticals (WIN), a recently-launched nonprofit organization, will be involved in a number of events at SupplySide West from Nov. 1-4.
On Tuesday, Nov. 1, as part of the NCN Ingredients and Technology Investor meeting, there will be a panel discussion on funding women in research, moderated by WIN board member Lynda Doyle, president and CEO, Avant Nutrition, LLC. Joining her in the discussion of the challenges women face transitioning from the lab to entrepreneurship are Emily Ho, PhD, of the Linus Pauling Institute, and Mary Phillips, PhD, of STEMMbridge LLC.
On Wednesday Nov. 2, from 1-2 p.m., WIN will co-host the Women of SupplySide Networking Reception in the SupplySide Garden in the Expo Hall. Members of the WIN Board of Directors will share insights into the goals of the organization and showcase opportunities to get involved, including membership, sponsorship, and more, with all genders welcome.
After the reception, Artemis International will host a Toast to WIN happy hour from 3-4 p.m. in booth #3845.
On Thursday Nov. 3, from 2:15-2:45 p.m. on the SupplySide Stage (booth 5670), WIN President Heather Granato will host the session ‘Inspiration from the research lab.’ During the interactive panel discussion, Granato will discuss the benefits of bringing more women into research and science, both in the lab and as the focus of research studies, with: Jessie Hawkins, PhD, Franklin Health Research; Karen Hecht, PhD, AstaReal Inc.; and Susan Hazels Mitmesser, PhD, Pharmavite.
The nonprofit, which was launched just a few weeks ago, seeks to further leadership opportunities for women and promote inclusive research into women’s health, and has garnered support from numerous sponsoring and supporting companies, publishers, and trade associations.
