Cassandra Heiden has joined Chemi Nutra, Austin, TX, as supply chain manager. In this new position, Ms. Heiden will be responsible for customer service, planning, import/export and domestic transportation, inventory management, and overall logistics, for Chemi Nutra’s family of proprietary, health benefiting specialty ingredient products, currently marketed and sold to the natural products industry. Chemi Nutra’s proprietary ingredients are used in dietary supplements, sports nutrition, functional foods/beverages, medical foods, and pet nutrition.
Ms. Heiden has spent the past five years working in the import/export and logistics arenas, managing air and ocean freight shipments, booking shipments, managing freight clearances with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, managing inventory, and being involved in billing and rate quotations. Most recently, she was employed by Kuehne+Nagel, Austin, TX, working as Air Import Coordinator.
“Cassandra is a great addition to our Chemi Nutra team, and because of our continued growth as well as added regulatory requirements by customers, state, federal, and international agencies, this is a very important, functional, position for our future. Specifically, Cassandra will manage import logistics, customer orders, and logistics, including vendor quality assurance forms, involving our branded, patented, specialty ingredient compounds, produced in Chemi’s own U.S. FDA inspected plants in Italy and Brazil — all of which will add speed and efficiency to our businesses,” said Scott Hagerman, president of Chemi Nutra.
