William Sears, MD, who has appeared on television shows such as Oprah, Dr. Phil and The Doctors, as well as authored over 40 books, has recently focused his medical expertise toward writing about nutrients. After penning “The Omega-3 Effect,” which came out in 2012, he’s now published “Astaxanthin: Seafood’s Ultimate Supernutrient.”
The new book focuses on how astaxanthin supports heart health, its anti-inflammatory effects within the body, as well as its benefits for skin and the brain. In addition, this book covers the major differences in efficacy between natural astaxanthin (from microalgae) and artificial astaxanthin (which is synthesized from petrochemicals).
