Felice Romano has joined Novel Ingredient Services, West Caldwell, NJ, as senior analytical service scientist. In his new position, Mr. Romano will work with venders and contracted laboratories to ensure congruency in test methodologies; troubleshoot out-of-specification raw materials, investigating both suppliers’ and laboratory findings; and providing technical support to sales and purchasing. He reports to Brooke Niquette, quality control manager.
For more than a decade, Mr. Romano supervised the analytical and microbiological laboratories at IFF Co. (International Flavors and Fragrances) in South Brunswick, N.J. There, he applied new technology and method optimization to better meet customer quality requirements, decreasing testing time and consistently exceeding site goals for on-time performance. In addition, he was the technical lead for all customer, vender, internal manufacturing, and non-conformance issues. He also helped design a state-of-the-art laboratory that performed all in-house testing for the world’s largest flavor production facility.
Prior to that, Mr. Romano was an analytical and instrument chemist for Coty, Inc., and Dragoco, Inc., working in quality control and research and development laboratories. He began his career as a Quality Control Chemist at Haarmann and Reimer Corp.
Mr. Romano holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science from the College of Staten Island (CUNY). He resides in New York City.
