Hero Nutritionals, San Clemente, CA, has debuted an improved Fish Free Omega 3 with Chia Seed formula to its Slice of Life line of vitamins for adults and Yummi Bears line for children.
Supporting cardiovascular health, this new vegetarian product offers the same benefits of a typical omega 3 supplement without the fishy taste or smell, hard-to-swallow size, or dangers of mercury exposure, explained Hero Nutritionals.
“Omega 3 fatty acids benefit the heart of healthy people, and those at high-risk of—or who have—cardiovascular disease,” according to the American Heart Association. “Research has shown that omega 3 fatty acids decrease risk of arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeats), which can lead to sudden death. Omega 3 fatty acids also decrease triglyceride levels, slow growth rate of atherosclerotic plaque, and lower blood pressure (slightly)."
The company noted that omega 3s are often referred to as the building blocks a child needs to build a healthy brain. In addition, studies show that omega 3 fatty acids are not only great for the heart, but they also may support a child’s memory, focus and learning. In fact, “virtually every study of behavioral and cognitive problems in children—and, for that matter, in adults—has shown an association with low levels of omega 3s,” explained Dr. Jonny Bowden, a nationally known expert on nutrition and health.
Available in fruit flavor, each serving of Yummi Bears Omega 3 with Chia Seed for children provides 69mg of omega 3 while the Slice of Life Omega 3 with Chia Seed for adults provides 115mg. Crafted with a fruit pectin base, the Omega 3 with Chia Seed vitamin is free of gelatin and mercury and is 100-percent vegetarian.
All Yummi Bears and Slice of Life vitamins are free of common allergens, gluten, dairy, nuts, soy, yeast, wheat and fish and use all-natural fruit flavors, colors and sweeteners.
