Jamba Juice Company, Emeryville, CA, with guidance from the National Dairy Council, Rosemont, IL, has unveiled a new fruit and dairy beverage for K-12 schools as part of their JambaGO initiative. Jamba Juice is entering the second year of the program, aimed at bringing better nutrition to kids with full fruit and vegetable servings in smoothie beverages in school cafeterias. JambaGO smoothies are being served in about 100 schools around the nation, and the company expects that number to grow to between 400-500 installations by year-end. New berry and peach flavors are being introduced to their JambaGo beverage — a naturally sweetened smoothie combining nutrient-rich fat-free milk with real fruit.
