New research indicates Zychrome from InterHeath Nutraceuticals was more impactful than chromium picolinate on insulin levels and function by 1.4-fold and 2.0-fold. InterHealth’s lead scientist, Francis Lau, PhD, FACN presented findings at the 52nd American College of Nutrition Meeting in November.
Zychrome’s impact on insulin levels and insulin function was significantly better compared to baseline (30% improvement) at the end of the 3-month study. Chromium picolinate did not significantly affect insulin levels or function. Subjects were identically dosed with 400 mcg of elemental chromium. Zychrome also significantly decreased inflammatory cytokine TNF-α by 21% and protein carbonyl by 10%. Both TNF-α and protein carbonyl are closely associated with oxidative stress and insulin function. For further information: www.interhealthusa.com
