PepsiCo, Purchase, NY, has introduced Phenom, a line of coconut water products designed to address the growing demands of health-conscious consumers for natural products. Coconut water is a natural electrolyte beverage. Formed naturally inside the shells of coconuts, it is also low in fat and calories and is a “good source” of vitamin C and “heart-healthy” potassium. The products are expected to be available during the second quarter of 2011 exclusively at GNC locations prior to a wider release in other retail outlets in the U.S.
