Aloecorp, Lacey, WA, has obtained GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status for the use of its Qmatrix aloe vera product in foods, beverages and supplements. Aloecorp has conducted extensive scientific studies over the past two years to develop its GRAS dossier. An independent panel of scientific experts reviewed published safety data and concluded that the company’s Qmatrix ingredient is GRAS for use in food and beverage products developed in the U.S.
