BASF Corporation has developed its unique S.E.T. (Sustainability, Eco-Efficiency and Traceability) initiative, allowing the company’s customers to trace which raw materials were used and which conditions were applied in production. The system offers flexible and independent access to traceability information any time and any place via GTNet, an Internet-based system. The S.E.T. initiative includes eco-efficiency analyses that cover the lifecycle of a product “from cradle to grave.” The process includes issues such as the environmental impact and carbon dioxide emissions from products BASF uses, as well as starting materials manufactured by others.
