According to a new study from Natreon, which analyzed in vitro and ex vivo assays, Capros antioxidant superfruit Indian Gooseberry—developed from Phyllanthus emblica—showed synergistic potential as an antioxidant ingredient in combination with other fruit juices and extracts.
The study showed that Capros combined with popular pomegranate fruit extracts and juices increases potency, leading to more powerful, long-lasting health benefits.
Conducted at the Natreon, Inc. facilities in Kolkata, India, the study utilized four in vitro screening systems for determination of antioxidant potential—ABTS, DPPH, FRAP and ORAC—as well as some ex vivo assays to measure if a combination of Capros and pomegranate extracts could achieve synergy. In all studies, fortification with Capros resulted in substantial improvement to the overall antioxidant profile of the mixture.
