Gourmetceuticals, LLC has unveiled PPL-240, an antioxidant that has been clinically proven to protect cells against the damaging effects of free radicals. PPL-240 is derived from a South American tropical fern found between 2000 and 8000 feet above sea level in the Andes Mountains. The fern, Polypodium leucotomos, has been used by people in Central and South America to treat inflammatory disorders and other skin diseases. Over the last three decades, the fern has been used to treat vitiligo, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, all with positive anecdotal results. More recently, oral and topical versions of the fern have been shown to have photoprotective, antioxidant properties.
Gourmetceuticals has also introduced GLPH-1, a polysaccharide extract derived from botanical yeast that has been proven to boost immune health in more than 20 clinical trials. FDA approved for both human and animal consumption, GLPH-1 works as an anti-inflammatory agent through multiple mechanisms, including stimulating the immune system’s white blood cells. The extract is available in a highly stable water-soluble powder that can be easily added to human or veterinary food products.
