Frost & Sullivan, London, U.K., has released its “European Vitamin B Market” report, which provides manufacturers, end users and other industry participants with an overview of the latest analysis. The report found that the European vitamin B market earned revenues of $534 million in 2005 and estimates the market will reach $1.16 billion by 2012. The most important factor driving the growth of B complex vitamins is the consumer interest toward self-medication. But despite increasing demand for dietary supplements, the European vitamin B market is highly saturated. Manufacturers in this commodity market are finding it increasingly difficult to compete with low-priced Asian products that benefit from cheap labor, favorable exchange rates and financial assistance from their governments.
