Pharmachem Expands AVOCA Extraction Capability
Pharmachem, Kearny, NJ, has completed a major expansion of its Avoca facility with the addition of a counter-current Crown extractor, which has a capacity of 12-18 tons per day. The 172,000 square foot facility, located on 2400 acres in Merry Hill, NC, produces extracts for the fragrance, pharmaceutical and dietary supplement industries. The facility meets industry standards for current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and features on-site storage of raw materials and a cGMP finished goods warehouse. David Peele, president of Avoca, said the new extractor will expand Avoca’s current capacity to approximately 95,000 tons per year.
