Capsugel, Greenwood, SC, and Draco Natural Products, San Jose, CA, have formed an agreement to jointly market Draco’s Vital Treasures™ encapsulated line of ingredients for cosmetics and personal care applications. Vital Treasures™ botanical ingredients are designed for inclusion in both topical skin care products and for internal dietary supplement products. For the internal component, Draco is packaging Vital Treasures Inside™ encapsulated liquid botanical extracts in Capsugel’s patented Licaps®. The first three Vital Treasures products to be jointly marketed under the new agreement are Trinitea™, SeaRose™ and Traditional Antioxidant™. Trinitea, Draco’s sun protection formula, is an extract blend of teas (Camellia sinensis) that has demonstrated 100% inhibition of UV induced lipid peroxidation for four hours in vitro. SeaRose is a proprietary formula featuring sea buckthorn and Rhodiola rosea, and is an elastase inhibitor meant to protect the skin’s elastin, inhibit skin aging and support skin repair on the DNA level. Traditional Antioxidant is an antioxidant formula meant to protect skin cells from free radical damage from the inside or outside.
