Longjiang River Health Products LLC, Irvington, NY, the U.S. affiliate of China-based Dragon River Health Products, has entered into the U.S. nutraceuticals marketplace. In January 2004, the company will launch a line of Chinese herbal medicine beverages, which have been available in Asian markets for some time. Product rollout will begin in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, with national distribution slated for the second quarter of 2004. Longjiang River’s debut product line is derived from luo han kuo, which is a designated national treasure of China and is known as “the magic fruit.” The fruit grows only in remote areas of Southwestern China. Premium luo han kuo comes from the Guangxi Province, where Longjiang River’s processing center is located. Longjiang River’s LHK™ and LHK+™ products are formulated to promote respiratory health and strengthen immune system performance.
