Clover, Spectrum Partner; DHA Bread Launched
Clover Corporation, Sydney Australia, and the Food Spectrum Group have formed a joint venture to do applications research for docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)—experimenting with different products like yogurt and cheese. Seventy prevent of the joint venture company—Nu-Mega Ingredients—will be owned by Clover, with the remaining 30% share owned by the Food Spectrum Group. Percent of ownership may shift over the next three years depending on the success of the products the two companies develop.
In other news, Clover’s HiDHA oils are being used in a new bread—Tip Top Up—produced by George Weston Foods, which is one the largest bread manufacturers in Australia. The bread contains 30 mg of DHA per serving (two slices).
