Decatur, IL-based Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) has decided to restructure its Food and BioProducts divisions to strengthen the company’s global focus on its core food and feed operations, as well as its functional foods and ingredients. With the new restructuring, each of the three operations, ADM Natural Health and Nutrition (value-added products), ADM Specialty Ingredients (food) and ADM BioProducts and Feed (feed), will function as a distinct division with its own leadership. All these divisions will report to John Rice, senior vice president, Food and BioProducts Division. Tony DeLio has been named president, ADM Natural Health and Nutrition, which includes the business units of nutraceuticals, functional foods and ingredients. Other appointments include Scott Fredericksen, president, ADM Specialty Ingredients and J. Kevin Burgard, president, ADM BioProducts and Feed.
In other news, ADM and the American Menopause Foundation this summer launched the Novasoy® Natural Power Tour in the U.S. Using a vehicle converted into a traveling clinic, the Novasoy tour aims to educate women about the benefits of eating soy as an aid in bone and heart health maintenance during and after menopause. Women who visit the clinic can talk with medical staff, receive free ultrasound bone density screenings and information on osteoporosis and find out ways to maintain healthy bone density.
