An FDA-approved, non-instrumented, quantitative home cholesterol test and diagnostic product, Cholesterol Manager™, has been launched by AccuTech, Vista, CA. Cholesterol Manager combines CholesTrak®, an FDA-approved total cholesterol home test and Total-Lo™, a flavored chewable dietary supplement made of plant stanols. CholesTrak is used to determine total cholesterol levels, Total-Lo is then taken before or with each meal to block dietary intake of cholesterol in the intestines. Upon completion of the 30-day supply of Total–Lo, CholesTrak is used to confirm reduction of cholesterol levels.
