Sr. Manager Research & Development - Consumer Health & Nutrition
Job Description:
The Sr. Manager, Research & Development, Consumer Health & Nutrition is responsible for development and execution of all pre-clinical and clinical data in support of nutritional products and technologies, both current and in development. These research and development efforts shall be fully align and support the achievement of the commercial goals of the Consumer Health & Nutrition business unit.
Key responsibilities:
- Advance development of clinical data
- Develop study protocols
- Research, organize and manage 3rd party science vendors
- As a sponsor, audit CROs and monitor clinical trials
- Interpret data and publish results
- Document and manage projects within IPM system/tool
- Evaluate independently published studies for key ingredients and applications
- Manage Technical Literature Database for NU BU
- Provide technical support for IP, Regulatory Registrations
- Support the development of Sales- and Promotional tools for Nutrition Portfolio
- Provide technical content of nutrition websites
- Write and review technical press releases; Editorials for industry publications
- Present technical data at various industry events
- Respond to scientific questions from customers with regard to our portfolio
- Participate in trade shows as R&D subject matter expert; Speak and present technical data
- Visit customers when required by Sales & Marketing on a global basis
- Advanced Education in Life Science (molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, biology, endocrinology, nutrition, or similar disciplines); PhD preferred
- Knowledge of toxicology is a plus
- Strong statistical experience as it pertains to the analysis of clinical, pre-clinical and in vitro scientific data
- Advanced level industry experience, including interacting with sales & marketing, external CROs, and KOLs required
- Familiar with emerging trends across multiple nutrition markets but in particular: Joint health, Brain health (Cognitive, Mood, etc.) Sports, Digestive & Immune
- Ability to drive and complete scientific research in a timely manner
- Ability to design, analyze, publish and present complex scientific studies and their results
- Ability to work cross functionally (Marketing, Sales, R&D/T, Legal, and Regulatory)
- Excellent command of English
- Excellent presentation skills
- High level of self-motivation, commitment, focus, and a strong desire to make a difference via meaningful contributions
