Neptune Technologies & Bioressources Inc., Laval, Québec, Canada, has successfully completed the ramp-up of its Sherbrooke plant, recovering from an explosion that took place in November 2012.The plant is now fully operational, with its annualized production capacity at 150 metric tons.
"Despite a small delay in our ramp-up schedule, which impacted our sales up to now, we are currently operating at full capacity," stated Mr. André Godin, interim president and chief executive officer of Neptune. "Product quality specifications are being met and customer shipments of our premium krill oil, NKO, are now underway."
He added, "With heightened production levels, we are now able to resume our pre- plant explosion sales efforts and are well placed to capitalize on future opportunities and reaffirm ourselves as a leader in the omega-3 nutraceutical market.
